The model A-1 was an 1800 pound max weight airplane, but up to 1980 on floats. The model A-1A was, I believe, a 1980 GW airplane. This lip keeps the bungees from sliding off the tubes. The tool goes over this lip and hangs on the tube. The tool kept bending the lip over.
